DTS with Multiple Driving Targets
Take the driver out the vehicle, remove the risk
We supplied the first Driverless Test System (DTS) in 2007 and since then our customers worldwide have chosen driverless testing for the tests where there is a risk to the test driver's health.
Durability testing
Tests designed to accelerate the wear of vehicle components, these typically involve repeatedly driving a vehicle over rough surfaces. Durability tests are tedious and physically demanding for drivers, but perfect for driving robots.
Tests with a risk of roll-over
Fishhook tests and other aggressive vehicle dynamics tests designed to destabilise a vehicle can be performed with zero risk to a driver using the DTS.
Collision scenarios
When a collision is a certainty, the DTS is the safe choice. Our customers use the driverless test system for doing tests such as evaluating post-collision auto braking systems.
Misuse test
Designed to explore what happens to a vehicle in an extreme situation, such as driving into a sandbank or becoming airborne after driving over a ramp.

Typically used to determine whether airbags or other elements of passenger restraint systems are deployed in non-collision situations.
ADAS testing
ADAS testing with multiple vehicles passing close to each other carries an obvious element of risk. Using the DTS allows all risk of human injury to be eliminated.
Guided Soft Target
The GST - an essential tool for developing future driver assistance technology. The Guided Soft Target is a pilotable target which looks like another car to your vehicle. The self-propelled platform carries a soft vehicle target (Soft Car 360) which is aerodynamically stable yet can separate into lightweight parts on impact, avoiding damage to the test vehicle.
Soft Crash Target
No-harm ADAS testing with the Soft Crash Target (SCT). An electrically-driven vehicle which can follow paths accurately at speeds of up to 70kph, the SCT is suitable for testing on a wide range of surfaces. The SCT uses our sophisticated path-following system to allow centimetre-accurate driving, together with Synchro to coordinate its motion precisely with that of your test vehicle.
Total flexibility for VRU testing
LaunchPad is a pilotable platform designed to carry Vulnerable Road User (VRU) targets for ADAS development and testing. This includes pedestrian, cyclist and moped dummies. The chassis is robust enough to cope with being driven over by a vehicle.

Like our GST, it allows the creation of paths and speed control profiles, enabling the next generation of ADAS tests. LaunchPad uses Synchro and path following technology to enable precise choreography with the subject vehicle.
Soft Pedestrian Target
Precise choreography for Vulnerable Road User dummies. The Soft Pedestrian System from AB Dynamics harnesses our decades of motion control experience for a novel purpose. Using the motor and control technology behind our steering robots, we can precisely synchronise the movement of a dummy with that of an oncoming vehicle.
