EuroNCAP Pedestrian Dummy
Our supplier is developing pedestrian dummies. The aim of the development project is to produce dummies which replicate human properties, also in size and shape.
Dummies can be recognized by mono and stereo visual camera systems. Also radar and infrared systems identify the dummy; with radar system there is a homogeneous distribution of the RCS and the radar values are realistic from different views. In infrared is 50% reflectivity, between 850nm and 950nm.
The characteristics are strictly defined, so the dummy is reproducible. There is no danger of crashes for the dummy, and respectively the test vehicle, at tests of up to 60 km/h. The static dummy, child and adult, complies with the requirements of the EuroNCAP.
